5 Days Tanzania Family Friendly Safari

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be welcomed by your guide and transferred to your hotel in Arusha. The transit time from Kilimanjaro International Airport to the hotel is around 1 hour and 30 minutes' drive covering a distance of 65.4 kilometers (40.6 miles).

Start your safari adventure with a scenic drive from Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park, approximately 2-3 hours (depending on traffic and road conditions), covering about 70 miles (113 km). Lake Manyara is famous for its landscapes and wildlife. Enjoy a picnic lunch upon arrival, followed by your first game drive. Explore the park and its diverse wildlife, including tree-climbing lions and large herds of elephants. In the late afternoon, arrive at your lodge on the edge of the Great Rift Valley.

Today is dedicated to exploring the Serengeti with morning and afternoon game drives, allowing you to experience the park's diverse ecosystems and abundant wildlife. Depending on the season, you may witness the Great Migration, where millions of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles traverse the plains in search of fresh grazing. Your knowledgeable guide will help you spot elusive predators like cheetahs and leopards, as well as playful primates and a variety of bird species. Between game drives, return to your lodge for a relaxing lunch and perhaps a dip in the pool. The day concludes with a family dinner under the stars, recounting the day’s sightings.

Begin your day with an early breakfast before departing for the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The drive from the Serengeti to the crater rim is approximately 67km/41miles  and takes about 1-2 hours. Descend into the crater for a memorable game drive in one of the most unique wildlife habitats on the planet. The crater floor is teeming with wildlife, including the Big Five, hippos, and flamingos around the soda lake. Enjoy a picnic lunch by the hippo pool before continuing your exploration of this natural wonder. In the late afternoon, ascend the crater rim and head to your lodge situated on the rim, offering spectacular views. Share a delicious dinner while reflecting on the day's incredible experiences.

On your final safari day, relish a leisurely breakfast with stunning views of the Ngorongoro Crater before embarking on a final short game drive. As you exit the conservation area, take in the last glimpses of this extraordinary landscape. The drive back to Arusha is approximately 190 km/ 118 miles and takes about 3-4 hours, depending on traffic and stops. Arrive in Arusha, where you can enjoy a farewell lunch at a local restaurant. Depending on your departure schedule, you may have time for a brief shopping excursion or a visit to a cultural center in Arusha, providing a perfect end to your family safari adventure.

This is the final day of your safari, so enjoy a delicious breakfast and relax while you wait for your guide. Your guide will pick you up, and you will begin your journey to Kilimanjaro International Airport via Arusha, covering a distance of 65.4 kilometers (40.6 miles).
