5 Days Tanzania Budget Safari expedition

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be welcomed by your guide and transferred to your hotel in Arusha. The transit time from Kilimanjaro International Airport to the hotel is around 1 hour and 30 minutes' drive covering a distance of 65.4 kilometers (40.6 miles).

After an early breakfast in Arusha, you'll set off for Tarangire National Park, a scenic drive that covers approximately 120 km (75 miles) and takes approximately 2 hours. Known for its large elephant herds and majestic baobab trees, Tarangire offers a unique safari experience. Upon arrival, you'll embark on your first game drive, where you'll have the chance to spot a variety of wildlife including lions, leopards, zebras, and more. After a picnic lunch within the park, continue your exploration before heading to your budget lodge or campsite in the late afternoon. Enjoy dinner under the stars and the sounds of the African wilderness.

Today, you'll journey to the world-renowned Serengeti National Park. After breakfast, depart for the Serengeti with a packed lunch, passing through the lush landscapes of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The drive from Tarangire to Serengeti covers approximately 102km (63miles) and takes about 3-4 hours, depending on road conditions and wildlife sightings along the way. Upon entering the Serengeti, you'll immediately start a game drive en route to your campsite. The Serengeti, famous for its annual migration of over a million wildebeest and hundreds of thousands of zebras, offers endless opportunities for wildlife viewing. Keep your eyes peeled for predators like lions, cheetahs, and hyenas. Arrive at your campsite in the heart of the Serengeti in the evening, where you'll enjoy dinner and an overnight stay.

Rise early for a full day of adventure in the Serengeti. After breakfast, embark on a morning game drive to catch the early risers and predators returning from their night hunts. This is the best time to see the park’s diverse wildlife in action. Return to the camp for lunch and a brief rest before heading out again for an afternoon game drive. The vast plains of the Serengeti are teeming with wildlife, and each season offers a different perspective. As the sun sets, head back to your campsite for dinner and another night under the African sky.

On your fourth day, you'll depart early for the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most spectacular natural wonders in Africa. The drive from Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater takes approximately 1-2 hours, covering about 73km (45miles). After a scenic drive, descend into the crater for a half-day game drive. The crater floor is rich in wildlife, including the Big Five, and offers incredible photographic opportunities. Enjoy a picnic lunch by the hippo pool before ascending the crater and heading to your accommodation on the crater rim or nearby. Spend the evening relaxing and enjoying dinner with breathtaking views of the crater.

Rise and shine! Take your breakfast and drive down the steep path of the world’s greatest caldera, Ngorongoro Crater, the largest, unbroken, and unflooded caldera in the world. The crater is not only scenically beautiful, rather it houses an unbelievable diversity of wildlife, including the rare black rhino and other members of the “Big Five” – lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard. The crater is also home to other animals that include hyenas, waterbucks, bushbucks, eland, and more than 500 bird species. After an extensive game drive and a picnic lunch, you will leave the caldera in the afternoon and drive back to Arusha. The drive is approximately 190 km / 118 miles and takes about 3-4 hours.

This is the final day of your safari, so enjoy a delicious breakfast and relax while you wait for your guide. Your guide will pick you up, and you will begin your journey to Kilimanjaro International Airport via Arusha, covering a distance of 65.4 kilometers (40.6 miles).
