This is what mountain teaches us. We might seem like a puny ant in front of it but we can still dream to reach the top, however, far it might seem. It is this self-belief of reaching the top despite the insurmountable odds that makes mountains so special for me. An adventure is never complete without a partner in crime. I didnât had 1 but 3. Three complete strangers from different parts of India whom I can now count as my dear friends. We not only hiked together but we shared our pains and happiness alike. Arrival Day At Kilimanjaro International Airport, Tanzania.
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be welcomed by your guide and transferred to your hotel in Arusha. The transit time from Kilimanjaro International Airport to the hotel is around 1 hour and 30 minutes' drive covering a distance of 65.4 kilometers (40.6 miles).
Day 1: Arusha - Lake Manyara
After breakfast, set out on your wonderful journey. You will start your safari with your Guide at 8 o'clock sharp (08:00am) to Lake Manyara National Park for a game drive with your packed Lunch box. The Transit time has an approximation of 2-3 hours Covering a Distance of 130 km / 81 miles. You will spend a few hours in the park game viewing. You will see elephants, giraffes, zebras, antelope, hippos and flamingos (in the hippo pool) and other animals. There are also climbing lions in Lake Manyara though they are rare to see. Boxed lunch will be provided and around 4pm you will drive to your accommodation where you will have your dinner in the evening.
Day 2: Lake Manyara - Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast around 8: am, you will depart for Ngorongoro Crater (approximately 2 hours, 60 km / 37 miles) for a full day of game viewing with picnic lunch. You will explore the crater, which is famous for its great concentration of wildlife including buffalo, lion, zebra, elephant, hippos, leopard, rhinos, and many others. You will drive to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay around 5 pm.
Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater - Tarangire to Arusha/Moshi
You will depart early after breakfast around 8 : am and drive to Tarangire National Park (approximately 2 hours, 110 km / 68 miles). Tarangire is a large park where you will be able to see many animals including lions, large groups of elephants, giraffes, leopard, cheetah, and others. Tarangire is also famous for its baobab trees. Boxed lunch will be provided and you will depart for Arusha (approximately 3-4 hours, 150 km / 93 miles) in the late afternoon.
Last day of your safari and flight home
This is the final day of your safari, so enjoy a delicious breakfast and relax while you wait for your guide. Your guide will pick you up, and you will begin your journey to Kilimanjaro International Airport via Arusha, covering a distance of 65.4 kilometers (40.6 miles).
